You, the Wave Offering

Aaron is to present the Levites before the LORD as a wave offering from the Israelites, so that they may be ready to do the work of the LORD. Numbers 8:11
From among all the Israelites, I have given the Levites as gifts to Aaron and his sons to do the work at the tent of meeting on behalf of the Israelites and to make atonement for them so that no plague will strike the Israelites when they go near the sanctuary.” Numbers 8:19

God gave Moses the plans for the tabernacle, and the craftsmen carried out building the parts as the Lord commanded. Now Aaron and his sons are not able to handle the task of maintaining the tabernacle, so God assigns the tasks to the tribe of Levi. The Levites are commissioned for service through a special service where they are presented as a wave offering to the Lord. The wave offering is then reserved for the personal use or property of the priests. And so the Levites were given to the priests (Aaron and his sons) for their use in maintaining the tabernacle. Would you consider offering yourself as a wave offering to Jesus our high priest? Will you be His helper in maintaining the tabernacle, or church today? Be obedient as Jesus directs, love God and love others.
