Resurrection of the Dead and the Living

So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 1 Corinthians 15:42-44
Our body of flesh and blood are sown perishable, in dishonor, and in weakness. The picture is that the body is a seed. The seed is planted and God gives it a new body as He pleases. A natural body is planted, a spiritual body is raised. The negatives of a natural body are contrasted by the positives in the raised spiritual body we will have. What God does to those believers who are still living when Jesus returns in the clouds is truly remarkable. For these believes, in an instant, their bodies are snatched and changed to spiritual bodies which meet Jesus in the clouds. So it will be with the resurrection of the dead (and the living)!
