Remember What the Lord did for You
On that day tell your son, ‘I do this because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.’ This observance will be for you like a sign on your hand and a reminder on your forehead that this law of the LORD is to be on your lips. For the LORD brought you out of Egypt with his mighty hand. Exodus 13:8-9
The Lord struck down all the first born of Egypt and in terrible grief Pharaoh finally agrees to let Israel go. Moses teaches the people to commemorate this day that they came out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery, because the Lord brought them out with a mighty hand. Moses teaches the people methods to remind them of what the Lord did, so they would always remember the Lord. Even in this day, we need reminders for ourselves so the Lord is always on our hearts and minds. We can’t compartmentalize the Lord in our lives, He needs to be with us for everything. How else can He walk with us through everything if we limit Him in our lives. The Lord wants all of you, all of your heart and mind each day. He delivered a whole nation, He will surely watch over you.
