Will You Trust Him?

Do not defile yourselves in any of these ways, because this is how the nations that I am going to drive out before you became defiled. Even the land was defiled; so I punished it for its sin, and the land vomited out its inhabitants. But you must keep my decrees and my laws. The native-born and the foreigners residing among you must not do any of these detestable things, for all these things were done by the people who lived in the land before you, and the land became defiled. And if you defile the land, it will vomit you out as it vomited out the nations that were before you. Leviticus 18:24-28

Previously we saw God proclaiming how the land was defiled by shedding blood. Here, he warns Israel of the many types of sexual sin that also defiles the land. Incest, sexual relations with close relatives, promiscuity, homosexuality, adultery, divorce, bestiality, prostitution, none of these were designed by God for healthy living. Long before many discoveries by medical researchers God provided the rules for Israel to be safe from sexual diseases and other related health problems. Whether it was the Israelites of Moses’ time, or us today, the questions is still the same, will you trust your life to God? Will you trust His promises, His power to save, to change us, to mold us, to make us day by day more like His Son? He surely is worthy to be trusted, worthy of honor and glory. He wants to do great things in your life. Will you trust him?
