After Terah had lived 70 years, he became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran. This is the account of Terah’s family line. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran. And Haran became the father of Lot. Genesis 11:26-27
Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Harran, they settled there. Genesis 11:31

Have you ever taken time to look back on your life and even before you knew Him, you could see He was working in your life? Or maybe it was bringing you to a crossroads in life where in retrospect you see His handprint This is one of those time in Abraham’s life, only we are the ones looking at what God is doing before He has even called (at that time) Abram. Abram’s father moves from Ur of the Chaldeans to Haran, taking with him Abram, Sarai, and Lot. Their destination was Canaan, approximately 900 miles away via the Fertile Crescent. They don’t make it to Canaan as Terah settles the family in Haran in the northern section of the Crescent, still about 400 miles from Canaan. Later God calls Abram to leave his father’s household and go to the land He will give to Abram’s descendants.
Where is God taking you? Are you in Haran or in the Promised Land? Is there more that God has for you? The last question if the most important of the three. It is more important to be like Abram and obey God going to a land he did not know. Obey God, He has more for you, in fact, He’s not done making you more like Jesus until He calls you home.
